The renovation will be carried out in strict compliance with the ordinances of the Moscow City Government. The appearance of the building, its outlines, dimensions and height will all remain unchanged. The designs allows the total area and the retail space to be increased by using the internal space more effectively. Sistema-Hals' goal is to preserve Detsky Mir as a symbol of an entire era while adapting it to the expectations of modern customers. The actual Detsky Mir store will occupy around 10,000 m2 (about 25% of the retail space) in the renovated complex.
